LED LIGHTING INSTALLATION
Switching to LED Lighting is a wise money saving decision. It is reported that
traditionally a home’s electrical and lighting is the 4th highest user of residential
energy consumption. Converting to energy efficient lighting will save $1000 over a 10
year period.

GROUND FAULT PROTECTION INSTALLATION
Ground fault protection is provided by GFCI devices, which are designed to detect
a situation where electricity finds a path to ground that does not align with the
design of the electrical system. This path can go through a person causing shock
or electrocution. If a GFCI device detects this, it will immediately shut off the power
to prevent this from happening. They are so important that Code requires them in
bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, garages and outdoor locations.
ARC FAULT PROTECTION INSTALLATION
Arc fault protection, also known as arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) has been
around for some time now. However, if your house was built before 2005 or had no
remodeling done, you may need AFCI protection. A specifically designed AFCI
breaker, AFCI receptacle, or a combination of the two should be installed to provide
AFCI protection. While a standard circuit breaker will trip when it detects an overload
or short circuit condition, an AFCI is designed to detect low level, potentially
hazardous arcing on a circuit, that could result in an electrical fire. AFCI is NOT the
same thing as GFCI. GFCI or ground-fault circuit interrupters protect against shock;
they are not intended to protect against fire, as does an AFCI.
SMOKE & CO DETECTOR INSTALLATION
We all know the frustration when your smoke detector chirps because the battery is dead.
Since smoke & CO detectors are one of the most important safety features in your home,
we recommend hard-wiring these. The National Fire Protection Association recommends
smoke detectors on every level of your house, in all bedrooms, and within 15’ of the
doorway into any bedroom.
CO detectors are also recommended by the National Fire Protection Association and
should be installed within 15 feet of any bedroom or sleeping area.
Since most people fail to replace the batteries when the detector chirps, hard-wiring these
systems will give you peace of mind that your family is safe.
ELECTRICAL PANEL REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT
Commonly known as a circuit breaker box, an electrical panel, service panel or breaker box,
is a steel box that holds circuit breakers wired to circuits that distribute electricity to the
outlets and appliances in your home. The electrical panel is a very important element since it
is the “brain” of your electrical system. It divides your home into separate circuits, each of
which can be controlled separately. Over time the breaker box can experience deterioration,
just like any other system in your house. Since it is responsible for the safe operation of your
home’s entire electrical system, if you are experiencing any problems, you should call for our
electrical panel replacement service

TAMPER RESISTANT RECEPTACLE INSTALLATION
Anyone who has been in a house with young children know the dangers of a child sticking a
metal object into a receptacle. The Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI), states
that every year about 2400 children suffer injuries from sticking metal objects into electrical
outlets. Approximately 89% of these are under the age of 6. These injuries could have been
prevented with tamper resistant receptacles, or TRRs. TRRs provide an affordable and
permanent solution to this problem. Protect your family- install tamper resistant
receptacles.
WHOLE HOUSE SURGE PROTECTOR INSTALLATION
A whole house surge protector is an important investment to protect your house and
your family. Chances are your home won’t be directly struck by lightning, however, even
a strike in close proximity of your house can cause electrical surges that can cause
severe damage to electronics. Lightning is not the only culprit. Electrical surges from
damaged transformers or even appliances cycling on and off are also damaging to not
only electronics, but can damage refrigerators, stoves, microwave ovens, telephones
etc. Many people think if they have power strips and/or surge protectors that their
electronics are safe. While these can provide some protection, many are little better
than just plugging the plug into the wall.
Pro Phase Electric can install a whole house surge protector at your existing circuit
breaker panel. This protection that guards against the damage cause by outside power
surges is money well spent when you add up all the money that you have invested in
TVs, computers, DVD players and any other electronic equipment that you own.
